In a survey, you can use several different types of question cards to collect responses. Each card type has a specific function and the answers are displayed and visualized according to the purpose of the question.
The card type selected is related to reporting type and filtering options.
For example, if you use a segment card, responses are reported where results for segments are shown and responses can be filtered with segment filters.
A completion card will calculate the percentage that answered Yes and report this as a percentage under Task Completion.
Message Card
Message Cards are typically used at the start and end of a survey. At the start, you can invite the user to participate, while at the end you can thank the user for their participation. No questions are asked here, only a message is written.
Top Task Card
Top Task Cards group responses based on user tasks. This is the most important card in a top task survey and should be placed early, only after any Message Card. The answer options in this card are top tasks, or "Tasks". They must first be created and then added to each card. Established Tasks can be reused in multiple surveys to link new user insights to the top tasks.
Completion Card
Completion Cards are used to calculate the solution rate in the survey. The purpose is to analyze the completion rate for each top task, by analyzing the answer to this question with other answers in the survey. This card should be placed right after a Top Task Card. You should only have one Completion Card per survey and not use it for other yes/no questions.
Segment Card
Segment Cards group responses by target groups. A typical question is
"Who are you visiting the website as now?". This card should be placed after the most important cards in the survey. Before you can use a Segment Card, you must first create the segments that will become the response options. Established segments can be reused in multiple surveys to attach new user insights to them.
Multi Select Card
Multi Select Cards allow users to select multiple options from a list. This is useful for questions where multiple answers may be relevant.
Input Card
Input Cards allow the user to write free text answers. This is particularly useful for more detailed responses. It is common to use this card in a Discovery Survey to ask about the user's task, ask those who selected Other for a description or provide a follow-up question after the completion card.
Likert Card
Likert Cards are used to allow users to rate something on a scale. Before you can use this card, you need to create scales separately outside the survey. These scales can then be reused across multiple surveys. Each answer option has a numerical value to calculate the result with a number. you can choose whether the numerical values should follow a unipolar or bipolar scale. In a unipolar scale, the numerical values are 1,2,3,4,5 and in a bipolar scale the values are -2,-1,0,1,2.
Recruitment Card
Skyra has a separate card type for inviting to user testing, with contact info, privacy policy and consent. The invitation can either stand alone or be added as a question in an existing survey.
