How to recruit for user testing and delete contacts

With Skyra, visitors can easily sign up for user testing through a consent form. Here we show you how.

Updated over 5 months ago

Skyra has a separate survey card type for inviting to user testing, with contact info, privacy statement and consent. The invitation can either stand alone or be integrated as a question in an existing survey or feedback form. This gives you the flexibility to recruit participants in the way that suits you best.

Those who sign up for user testing are added to the contact list under Recruitment in the menu. Use filters to find and invite those who are best suited to your test. You'll also be notified when it's time to delete contacts, so they won't be stored for longer than 365 days or the number you set yourself.

How to create the invitation

We will create a question card that looks like this.

Example:
The video shows how to add the question, with the rule to only invite those who did not solve their question.

Add question - Step by step

  • Create a new survey and add recruitment as a question card

    • Add card > Recruitment

  • Fill in texts and select fields for contact info (feel free to use our suggestion)

  • Save

Tips
You can choose whether to ask for email, phone number or both.

Use Add rule to control whether the question should only be shown to someone, based on previous answers.

2 step invitation

You can recruit in two steps

  1. Ask if you want to participate (Yes/No, via Segment card)

  2. If yes, ask for contact info (Recruitment card)

    1. This is set via the Visibility rule (the card should only be shown if you answered "yes" in the previous question.

Contact list

Those who sign up for recruitment are added to the contact under Recruitment. Use filter to narrow down the list to those who fit your criteria or signed up via a specific survey.

Typical criteria for inviting are those who came for a specific task, target group or responded that they didn't get to do what they came for.

Open the drawer to see all the answers given by a user.

Remember to delete contacts after 12 months

Skyra will remind you to delete contacts after 12 months or the number of days you have selected in "Recruitment lead keep days" in Settings.

Recruitment leads keep days

You can choose when you want to be reminded to delete contacts.

  • Go to Settings > Recruitment leads keep days

Expired leads

The contact list provides a reminder when contacts have been stored longer than the number of "keep days". This helps you to remember to delete person info.

  • The reminder is shown under Recruitment > Expired leads
