Planning document
Before you create the survey in Skyra, it is a good idea to have written down all questions and texts in a planning document. This provides a comprehensive overview and the texts in the document can easily be copied into Skyra and creates a good flow.
1. Create a new survey
Go to Menu > Surveys > Add survey
Fill in
Name and description (these are only names for your own overview)
Survey type Top Task Survey
Language: English (sets default texts like next, previous, close etc)
Create survey
2. Add question card
Based on the type of question you want to ask, you need to choose the right question card.
Add card
Card type: Select the correct type of question card (Message, Completion, Top task, etc.)
Heading and body: Copy texts from the planning document if you have it
Feel free to use suggestions from the section "Suggestions for texts, structure and questions"
Select any settings for the question card
Visibility rule: Show the question based on a previous answer
More options: Override texts, start the card as minimized
Randomize: Random order of answer options
Pin position: Lock the position (e.g. "Other" at the bottom)
Save
Top Task Card: Buttons explained
Question logic
Using question logic (Visibility rule), you can follow up with a new question based on the previous answer. Some examples where this is often used are
Top task level 1
Level 2
Other information
Free text
Did you get to do what you came for, No
What prevented you from doing what you came for? (free text)
Top tasks level 1 and 2
If you use levels 1 and 2 for top questions, the question name from level 1 should be used as the title of the question card in level 2. This makes the layout clearer and creates a clear flow in the survey, so that the respondent easily understands that they should elaborate on the choice from the previous question.
Other, Free text
A common follow-up question is to ask those who selected "other" if they can provide a description in free text. This is done by adding an input card with question logic and titling it "Other: What did you come to the site for?"
